Retired with Less than $1 Million?
In another post, I discussed the commonly accepted “you need $1,000,000 to retire” rule. Can you retire with less? Possibly … People retire all the time with a lot less money. They might have been forced to leave work early (due to layoffs, illness, etc.) or perhaps they voluntarily quit a soul-sucking career. Read about why I voluntarily left a secure job before I had $1 million in savings. Further, find out what steps I took before deciding that it was possible to retire early.
Where to Venture Next?
So many places to see and so little money! While my budget kept me stateside for most of 2018, I am busy exploring inexpensive foreign adventures for 2019. Here is where I’m currently traveling, where I’m planning to visit, what I’m budgeting to spend and what I actually spent! I will confess my monetary mistakes and explore what I would change if I could do it over again.
Volunteer Experiences
I spent the first few months of retirement decompressing before I became incredibly bored. Although I signed up for some online classes, I wanted to do something different. I decided to volunteer at Pop Culture conventions around the country for a few months. Read about my experiences as a volunteer at the 2019 conventions for Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and Star Trek.
